Description

Start your morning with this fast and satisfying breakfast that combines crispy toast, melty cheese, and savory bacon in a delicious sandwich. Perfect for busy mornings or a weekend brunch, this cheesy, protein-packed meal will keep you energized all day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 30g butter (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • 3 slices of bacon
  • 6 slices of cheese (any type)
  • 3 additional slices of bread
  • Hunting sausage (sliced, amount to taste)
  • 100g shredded cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  • Toast the Bread: Toast 6 slices of bread until golden brown and crispy.

  • Cook the Bacon and Sausage: In a frying pan, cook the bacon until crispy. Set aside. Cook the hunting sausage slices until slightly crispy.

  • Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly until smooth and thickened. Season with nutmeg.

  • Assemble the Sandwiches: Place a slice of cheese and a slice of bacon on each toasted bread slice. Add a few slices of sausage and top with another slice of bread.

  • Add the Cheese Topping: Spoon the cheese sauce over each sandwich. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

  • Final Toast: Broil or bake the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Serve Hot: Enjoy your warm, cheesy breakfast sandwich immediately.

Notes

Use a sturdy bread – Sourdough, ciabatta, or brioche works best.
Let the cheese sauce rest – It thickens slightly, making it creamier.
Toast the bread well – Prevents sogginess from the cheese sauce.
Customize the flavors – Add garlic powder, paprika, or cayenne pepper for a kick.
